Scenic Route Studio - Update the Hardware with Old World Accents

We recently had the pleasure of working with Scenic Route Studio on a wonderful dresser makeover featuring Liberty's modern geometric black knobs. It's in a southwestern style and is absolutely gorgeous! And Jennifer has an eye for staging on top of everything else.

A close look behind the knobs reveals a distressed or worn look that adds to the old style, rustic look of the piece.

This technique is what Jennifer shares in her latest video Update the Hardware with Old World Accents. Great short video where she quickly explains and demonstrates the technique. A nice channel to subscribe to as well if you are into learning online.
Thank you Jennifer and Scenic Route Studio!

Wood and Shop YouTube Channel - Great Resource for Woodworkers!

Last couple days we had a big bunch of traffic coming from YouTube, which is unusual, so I went to track it down and found Wood and Shop had done called "How to Make Workbench Dogs, Dog Holes & Holdfast Holes". The video had 25,000 views in just two days so no wonder we were getting traffic!

I took the time to watch the video and also to check out the rest of Joshua's channel and it is a great resource for all things woodworking. It was  an honor to be mentioned and used in his video!

Check out the channel now and subscribe! Great ideas and techniques for beginners or seasoned woodworkers alike and Joshua keeps each video interesting and straight to the point.

He also runs a nice looking website with woodworking classes you can sign up for in person woodworking classes. He's out of the Charlottesville, Virginia area.

From Joshua on his website "Wood & Shop is a place for Woodworkers of all skill levels to come learn how to use a mix of traditional hand tools and modern power tools to make heirloom-quality furniture that will last a lifetime."

Thanks Joshua!

Pneumatic Tube Video Reached 20,000 Views!

My father and brother made this video demonstrating how to make a pneumatic tube system for delivering inter office packages and paper work. Now it's been seen over 20,000 times!

It was the first one of it's kind up on YouTube, made in early 2016. Now there are a few more by other people showing off some different methods of doing it. Together with our video there is a great set of videos for making one of your own!

A little time consuming, but anyone can build one for around $100 in materials depending on how long and how strong you need it to be.

DIY Pneumatic Tube System

Two of the D's in D. Lawless, Dane and Dave, teamed up to create this pneumatic tube system for our hardware department. The ladies needed to be able to send papers back and forth without all the hassle of going up and down the stairs to our pick room. My Dad and I decided we could save them the trouble with a pneumatic tube like you would see at your local bank. Below is the result from start to finish of our DIY pneumatic tube system journey.

How to Apply Liming Wax from Create & Babble

Just wanted to share this short video on applying liming wax from Jeanie at Create & Babble not only because it's good information but because the final product features our hand painted ceramic knobs!
